Welcome to "Pat's Pics"
Pat Burns – Freeport, Bahamas.
Born and raised in the North of England, I qualified as a teacher of mathematics and raised my family. In 1984, as my youngest child was about to leave for college, I embarked on a new life, still teaching mathematics, but based in Freeport, Bahamas.
With my family grown, and with long and frequent school holidays, I began to travel extensively, always with camera in hand, and my interest in photography started to grow. I have been taking pictures ever since.
After retiring from teaching in 1999, I turned my hand to a new venture, and opened a small gift shop, catering to the tourist market, and filled it with goods which I had picked out on my travels around the world. Now, with several shops and a wholesale company, I find I have a perfect outlet for my images of The Bahamas. I have also exhibited locally and sold some of my travel and wildlife pictures to both individuals and local corporate bodies.
Apart from a growing brood of grandchildren, my main interest is actually in travel and wildlife photography, although, as you will see in my gallery, I still make time to capture images right here in the Bahamas.
I hope you enjoy my site and invite you to return again soon. I have several projects planned for the near future and will be adding new images all the time.
